Two offshore projects illustrate that complexity. First, Wheatstone. Its platform lies in Commonwealth waters. Follow the orange export pipeline across the three nautical mile boundary, through Western Australian waters, to the mainland landing at Ashburton North. Next, Gorgon. Its subsea field system also lies in Commonwealth waters. The pipeline crosses into Western Australian waters and lands at North Whites Beach on Barrow Island.
